Job Role

We are recruiting for a Youth Event & Education Executive who will be responsible for managing and delivering INEOS GO Run For Fun events nationwide.  INEOS GO Run For Fun is a health and well-being initiative which provides fun education training and running events for children aged 5-10.  The key objective is to encourage children to move more, sit less and make healthy food choices.



Main Duties

  • Manage all pre-event planning and delivery of UK GO Run For Fun events
  • Manage event day operational aspects of the running events including, start/finish line management, set up of branding, course route, PA system
  • Develop strong working relationships with School & County Sport Partnerships, Councils and schools to engage them in running events and the health and wellbeing programme
  • Deliver sports presentation during the event; presenting to children via the microphone to deliver fun GRFF show including a warm-up/cool down routine
  • Key liaison with athlete managers to recruit athletes for event appearances, create athlete briefs and act as main contact on event day
  • Liaise with PR agency and act as contact on event day for local media
  • Manage fulfilment process for UK and international events including the ordering and delivery of race numbers, education resources, other branded items
  • Manage and recruit temporary staff to support event day delivery
  • Potential for international travel and event delivery support at some international GO Run For Fun events
  • Work with the Product Development Manager on budget management with a view to take on more financial responsibility of the campaign


  • Management of temporary event day staff
  • Work closely with Product Development Manager to ensure delivery of campaign strategy in line with commercial sponsors requirements
  • Provide updates and feedback to commercial sponsor as required
  • Liaison with third party suppliers to ensure strong relationships are created and maintained with councils, schools, sport clubs, pupils, and sponsors


  • Degree educated with ideally an education, sport, event management or marketing background
  • Event management experience is desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of education in the sport sector and experience of teaching and working with young people  is desirable
  • An excellent communicator who is confident and experienced in presenting to large groups of parents, teachers and children
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to work with young people from a variety of social and economic backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail and administration/organisation skills
  • Must be willing to travel across the UK and work occasional weekends
  • Ideally first aid qualified, training will be provided if not

Additional Information

•Must be willing to acquire an enhanced DBS check prior to starting work. •Must be willing to undergo First Aid training if no existing qualification •Must be willing to travel regularly across the UK conducting site visits, meeting partners and delivering events on a regular basis •Must have full, clean driving licence •Some out of hours work may be required as well as weekend work •Working with children •35 office hours per week between 8-6, Mon-Fri and some travel for events of no more than 1-5 days, out of ours/weekend work required sporadically •Full clean driving license is a requirement for this role •This is a 2 year fixed term contract. Potential opportunity for the contract to be extended at the end of the fixed term
